Post Notes on the Spiritual Spectrum

Post Notes on the  Spiritual Spectrum         Something to note about the nature of the Spiritual Spectrum is that there’s a point of reversal that’s never reached. Futuristic dials back to Progressive, then Moderate, then Conservative etc. to Primordial at the end but this dialing back is never reached because the Futuristic portion is never-ending.          To reach the point of reversal, you’d have to approach a ceiling which is impossible since there’ll never be a ceiling to infinite progression. Futuristic is ultra progressive  and so, it progresses forever.          So even though I could very well make the spectrum go red to blue then back to red, there’s no point in listing the return to red at the end because it’s never reached. Therefore, functionally, the spectrum ends at Futuristic. It’s the final portion that you can access in the progression forward.          So t...

Spiritual Spectrum (Part II)

Spiritual Spectrum Part II         Over on the Conservative side of the spectrum, everything trends in an expectedly opposite direction. I said in the first part that advancement doesn’t necessarily correlate along the spectrum. This means that a teacher being positioned in one portion of the spectrum doesn’t automatically make them more or less advanced than the teachers in another.          For example, it’s possible for a Spiritually Conservative set of teachings to be more advanced than even a Spiritually Futuristic collection. I’ll explain how here in a minute but, the important thing to note is that advancement is largely an independent variable of the spectrum. Largely ...not entirely.          To understand this better (and it is crucial to understand this better before analyzing the Conservative side of the spectrum) remember the example of the Barbaric pre-civilization that I used in the first part. It...

Spiritual Spectrum

Spiritual Spectrum        Spectrums are a useful tool for gauging and comparing all sorts of different vantage points within any given field. Whether it be for studying politics, science, philosophy, religion etc. they can layout the similarities, differences, & levels of proximity between various schools of thought. Observations can be made about where each one stands on any specific issue or general topic within the respective field that’s being put under analysis.          No doubt, many people have heard politics being discussed across the range of a familiar spectrum (the Conservative-Progressive spectrum). What many aren’t aware of is that this Conservative-Progressive spectrum is actually derived from a more fundamental study than that of politics.          Sure, it can be and has been used in the study of politics yet, it can also be used to compare the different lines of thought found in other fields such...
